CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased man's estate is suing Club 390 Corp. and unknown alleged intoxicated persons, alleging negligence under the Dram Shop Act.
Raquel Romero, as independent administrator of the estate of Jose Luis Romero, filed a complaint on July 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they one or more intoxicated people who struck Jose Luis Romero with a vehicle had been served alcohol by the club.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 18, 2015, Jose Luis Romero was lawfully on the parking lot when he was violently struck by a vehicle and killed. The plaintiff holds Club 390 Corp. and unknown alleged intoxicated persons responsible because the club allegedly failed to limit the serving of alcoholic beverages to the unknown defendants, causing one or more of them to become intoxicated.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Lisa M. Taylor and Victor P. Henderson of Henderson Parks, LLC in Chicago.
