Fall from chair allegedly caused fracture that led to death

CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate is suing Adventist Midwest Health, d//b/a Adventist Lagrange Memorial Hospital, and Steven K. Sauerberg in a wrongful death claim alleging negligence in medical care.

Cecelia Riley, special administrator of the estate of Pauline Steiner, filed a complaint on July 18 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Steiner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 17, 2014, Steiner fell from a chair and fractured her left hip, ultimately leading to her death on July 30, 2014. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision and assistance to Steiner.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants for an amount in excess of the jurisdictional limits of this court. She is represented by David Vander of David Vander in Chicago.
