Man alleges damages from surgery

CHICAGO — A man is suing Presence Chicago Hospitals Network d/b/a Presence St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital, Presence Healthcare Services d/b/a Presence Medical Group and Joseph C. Sheehan, M.D., alleging negligence in health care.

Hipolito Ramirez filed a complaint on July 6 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide him with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 7, 2014, he suffered severe and permanent injuries to a leg and incurred further medical expenses as a result of improper surgery. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly evaluate his condition and performed an unnecessary procedure on him.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court cost. He is represented by Emilio E. Machado of Rubin, Machado & Rosenblum, Ltd. in Chicago.
