Lexington Health Care Center of Orland Park accused of failure to provide proper supervision

CHICAGO — The family of a nursing home resident is suing Lexington Health Care Center of Orland Park Inc. on her behalf, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Adel Etayem, as attorney in fact for Ana Etayem, filed a complaint on Aug. 16 in Cook County Circuit Court against Lexington Health Care Center of Orland Park Inc., alleging that the nursing facility failed to provide proper care to Ana Etayem.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Ana Etayem fell on Aug. 27, 2014, resulting in a subarachnoid hemorrhage and closed fracture of the thumb. The plaintiff holds Lexington Health Care Center of Orland Park Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Ana Etayem to prevent her from falling.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs and is represented by Susan L. Novosad and Jared M. Reynolds of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
