Man alleges complaint of harassment led to retaliatory firing

Wrongful term 12

CHICAGO — A former employee is suing Masterform Tool Company and Richard Perales, alleging retaliation and sexual harassment.

Otto Mejia filed a complaint on Aug. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging they terminated his employment as retaliation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges between June 2013 and May 2015, he was sexually harassed during his employment and was eventually terminated after complaining about the unlawful act. The plaintiff holds Masterform Tool Company and Perales responsible because the defendants allegedly started retaliating against the plaintiff following his complaint.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual monetary damages, compensatory damages, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Alejandro Caffarelli and Madeline K. Engel of Caffarelli & Associates Ltd. in Chicago.
