Couple alleges health care providers failed to diagnose condition

Medical malpractice 01

CHICAGO – A couple alleges a surgery performed on the husband wasn't consistent with his medical needs.

David M. Schultz and Holly Schultz filed a complaint on Aug. 29 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Northwestern Medicine, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group, Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation and Aruna Ganju, M.D. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in August 2014, David M. Schultz sustained damages from a surgical procedure, which caused physical injuries and further medical expenses. The plaintiffs holds Northwestern Medicine, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group, Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation and Aruna Ganju, M.D. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide medical care consistent with his needs, failed to diagnose a neurological condition, failed to consider reasonable alternatives and improperly and unreasonably undertook a surgical procedure.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages in the amount of $50,000 plus court costs. They are represented by David W. Hepplewhite of David W. Hepplewhite PC in Chicago.
