CHICAGO — The family of a deceased 17-year-old girl are suing a hospital and several medical professionals in a wrongful death claim.

Annette Price Williams and Lamont Williams, independent administrators of the estate of Taylor Williams, are suing Rush University Medical Center, Karim Diab, M.D.; Carlos Miranda, M.D.; Joanna Kuppy, M.D.; Joanna Tylka, M.D.; Tanyaporn Katie Kaenkumchorn, M.D.; Marc Elias, M.D.; and Andrew D. Franklin, M.D., alleging negligence in medical care.

The plaintiffs filed a complaint on Aug. 28 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper medical care to Taylor Williams.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that from Oct. 6 through Oct. 14, 2015, Taylor Williams experienced severe pain from several medical conditions that culminated in her death. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly diagnose Taylor Williams.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $1 million. They are represented by Christopher Patrick Ford of Law Office of Christopher Patrick Ford in Chicago.
