CHICAGO — A couple is suing doctors and a suburban medical practice, asserting Rajit Shantaram Shetty, M.D.; Uday N. Narahari, M.D.; and Dupage Medical Group, Ltd. d/b/a Dupage Medical Group misread a brain scan, leading to injuries and further treatments for one of the plaintiffs.

Brit Berkey and Abbey Berkey filed a complaint Aug. 9 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to properly evaluate Brit Berkey's condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in January 2015, Brit Berkey suffered physical injuries that necessitated further medical treatment. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly interpret the result of a CT brain scan performed on Brit Berkey.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than the jurisdictional limits of the court. They are represented by David J. Rashid of Burke Wise Morrissey & Kaveny in Chicago.
