Doctor, hospital accused of negligence in colostomy

CHICAGO — A patient claims he underwent a colostomy despite contraindications.

Daniel Bish is suing Farhad Vossoughi, M.D.; Farhad Vossoughi, M.D., S.C.; and Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Daniel Bish filed a complaint on June 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide him with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in April 2015, he underwent a colostomy procedure. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to take proper steps, including an alleged failure to obtain a preoperative CT scan.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by Bradley Z. Schulman of Motherway & Napleton, LLP in Chicago.
