CHICAGO — A woman claims she was injured due to the negligence of an employee at a Menards store, who allegedly struck her with a pallet jack.

Patricia Colon is suing the employee, identified as John Doe, and Menard Inc., d/b/a Menards, alleging negligence, liability and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Patricia Colon filed a complaint on Sept. 9 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that the Menards employee John Doe failed to exercise caution while operating a pallet jack.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 29, 2015, she suffered physical injuries. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the employee allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout while operating a pallet jack, causing it to strike the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Thomas E. Pakenas of Law Offices of Dale & Pakenas in Chicago.
