CHICAGO — A woman is suing Advocate Health, alleging she was injured in an unsafe stairway in the parking garage at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

Ruby Diaz is suing Advocate Health and Hospitals Corporation, alleging negligence, liability and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries. She filed a complaint on Sept. 9 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging that the property owner failed to properly inspect the condition of the parking garage stairway and close it off.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 2, 2015, she sustained physical injuries when she fell in the stairway. The plaintiff holds Advocate responsible because the defendant allegedly allowed a hazardous condition in the stairway.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than the jurisdictional limits of the court, plus court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Glenn C. Ronaldson of Ronaldson and Kuchler, LLC in Chicago.
