CHICAGO — A patient is suing a hospital and a nurse, alleging failure to provide proper care.

Candy Niles filed a complaint on Sept. 14, in the Cook County Circuit Court against Mercy Hospital and Medical Center and a nurse who worked there, alleging negligence in connection with a fall.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in 2014, she suffered a fall that caused head injuries. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to implement a care plan or adequate supervision to the plaintiff in order to make sure that she did not suffer a fall.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in a sum that exceeds the court's jurisdictional limits. She is represented by Donald J. Nolan of Nolan Law Group in Chicago.
