CHICAGO — A man is suing the University of Chicago Medical Center, alleging that the hospital didn't provide enough warning of problems with an outdoor metal staircase, leading him to fall through and be injured while working at the site.
Alfy Stigler filed a complaint on Sept. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against the University of Chicago Medical Center, Mother Aid Research Pavilion and the University of Chicago, alleging that they failed to properly address problems with the stairway.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 22, 2014, he sustained physical injuries when he fell through the stairs. The plaintiff holds the defendants because they allegedly failed to provide adequate warning regarding the hazardous condition of the stairs.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Paul G. O'Toole of Salvato & O'Toole in Chicago.
