CHICAGO — A deceased woman's family has filed a wrongful death claim alleging negligence in medical care, after several practitioners allegedly prescribed the woman an anti-fungal medication, which caused her injuries.
Thomas Pagliaro, special administrator of the estate of Phyllis Pagliaro, filed a complaint on Sept. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against Marc Fine, M.D.; Gastroenterology Liver Disease Associates, LLC; Jill Patton, D.O.; and Advocate Medical Group, alleging that the defendants failed to provide proper medical care to Phyllis Pagliaro.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in 2015, Phyllis Pagliaro suffered serious physical injuries which caused the deterioration of her health and contributed to her death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to evaluate Phyllis Pagliaro's medical history and recommended Fluconazole to her, which caused harm.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Susan E. Loggans of Susan E. Loggans & Associates, P.C. in Chicago.
