CHICAGO — Progressive Insurance has alleged a towing company improperly solicited its insured drivers, even though police had not summoned them to the scene.
Progressive Universal Insurance Company and its affiliates, Progressive Southeastern Insurance Company, and Progressive Paloverde Insurance Company, filed a complaint on Aug. 18 in Cook County Circuit Court against C&S Towing and Recovering Inc., alleging that the towing company made false representations regarding the costs of its service to owners of insured vehicles.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2016, it suffered damages on behalf of the owners of insured vehicles that were towed. The plaintiff holds C&S Towing and Recovering Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly solicited its service to owners of insured vehicles without being contacted by law enforcement officers.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and judgment against the defendant for monetary damages plus court costs. Progressive is represented by Frederick J. Sudekum III and Shirley Blazejczyk of Sudekum, Cassidy & Shulruff, CHTD. in Chicago.
