CHICAGO — A metal manufacturer and fabricator known for working on high profile projects in and around Chicago are suing several defendants, including the company that oversees operations at Chicago's Navy Pier, claiming failure to pay for completed work.
Waukegan Steel LLC sued numerous defendants, including Madison Evans JV LLC, Navy Pier, Inc., Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, Arch Insurance Company, Fifth Third Bank, Cobra Concrete Cutting Services Company, Advance Electrical Supply Company LLC, CHM Lighting Group, LLC, D & E Industrial Services, Inc., Agee International, CCI Flooring Inc., Continental Painting and Decorating, Inc., Triton Plumbing, LLC, Chicago Ornamental Iron, Inc., Alliance Glazing Technologies, Inc., Kieffer & Co, Inc., U.S. Architectural Glass & Metal, Inc., American Building Services, LLC, Pierini Iron Works, Inc., Cain Mill Work, Inc., Certified Construction Services and unknown owners. The plaintiffs filed their complaint against the defendants on Sept. 6 in Cook County Circuit Court.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege the defendants requested extra and additional labor and material changes from the plaintiffs for unspecified work at Navy Pier, but failed to pay them for their work.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in the amount of $763,915, plus interest, all legal fees and further relief. They are represented by Ty D. Laurie and Thomas A. Reuland of Laurie & Brennan, LLP in Chicago.
