Doctor with Advocate Medical Group sued for alleged misdiagnosis

By Louie Torres | Sep 22, 2016

CHICAGO — A patient is suing a doctor, identified as Nikolaos Dallas, M.D., Advocate Medical Group and Advocate Health, alleging negligence in medical care.

Nimitt Desai filed a complaint on Sept. 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that in 2014 and 2015 he suffered injuries and sustained unnecessary medical expenses. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly misdiagnosed a mass on his right arm as lipoma rather than a schwannoma.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by Timothy M. Richardson of Winters Salzetta O'Brien & Richardson, LLC in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court Case number 16L9032
