Advocate Medical Group, others accused of burning patient's bladder

CHICAGO — A patient is suing a doctor, identified as Felicia Lane, M.D., and medical practices Advocate Medical Group and OB Hospitalist Group, alleging negligence in medical care, after they allegedly burned her bladder during surgery.

Denise Misner filed a complaint on Sept. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide her with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered physical injuries including a hole in her bladder. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly perform surgery, causing a burn on her bladder.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Edward G. Proctor, Jr. of Munday & Nathan in Chicago.
