CHICAGO — A deceased woman's family has filed a wrongful death claim against Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, alleging negligence in medical care.

Joseph Adjei-Duah, as independent administrator of the estate of Victoria Peace Adjei-Duah, filed a complaint on Sept. 23, in Cook County Circuit Court against Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, alleging that the hospital failed to provide proper medical care to Victoria Peace Adjei-Duah.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2015, Victoria Peace Adjei-Duah failed to receive proper care while being treated for post-operative bleeding complications, contributing to her death. The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Jeffrey A. Schulkin of Jeffrey M. Goldberg Law Offices in Chicago.
