CHICAGO — A woman is suing an Italian manufacturer of an industrial pasta machine, alleging that a lack of safety features led to two of her fingers being cut off.

Quentnesha K. Hollins filed a complaint on Sept. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against Tonelli Group S.P.A. d/b/a Officine Meccaniche Emilio Tonelli a/k/a The Tonelli Group, alleging that the foreign business failed to provide safety features on its Tonelli Double Spreader product to prevent users from being cut by its blades.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 1, she suffered severe physical injuries including the amputation of two fingers while operating a Tonelli Double Spreader. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because it allegedly manufactured its products without adequate safety features or warnings.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by John C. Wunsch of Law Offices of John C. Wunsch, P.C. in Chicago.
