CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased man's estate is suing Ballard Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center LLC, d/b/a Ballard Nursing Center, in a wrongful death claim alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Colleen Quinlisk Siau, as independent administrator of the estate of Curtis King, filed a complaint on Sept. 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendant, alleging that the nursing facility failed to provide proper care to King.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014 and 2015, King suffered from the development of pressure ulcers that contributed to and/or caused his death. The plaintiff holds Ballard Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center LLC, d/b/a Ballard Nursing Center, responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision and care to King in order to avoid the development of pressure ulcers.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $50,000. She is represented by John J. Perconti, Margaret P. Black and Michael Shanahan of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
