Sunrise of Wilmette accused of negligence in nursing home care

CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate has filed a wrongful death claim against Sunrise of Wilmette, and other related entities, alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Margaret Hartman, special administrator of the estate of Mary Zellner, filed a complaint on Oct. 26 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Zellner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that  Zellner  fell and fractured her left femur, contributing to her death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision at all times to Zellner in order to address her risk of falling.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of the court plus court costs. She is represented by Randall F. Peters of Randall F. Peters & Associates in Chicago.
