CHICAGO — A deceased man's family has filed a wrongful death claim against Aperion Care International; Yam Management LLC and Yam Consulting LLC, alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Angelo Crawford, as independent executor of the estate of Nathaniel Crawford, filed a complaint on Oct. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Nathaniel Crawford.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Crawford developed pressure sores that contributed to his death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide sufficient supervision to Crawford in order to prevent him developing pressure sores.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by Margaret P. Battersby Black and Michael L. Shanahan of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
