Estate executor alleges sexual assault at nursing home

CHICAGO — A representative of a deceased woman's estate is suing Glenwood Healthcare & Rehab Inc., and a male resident, alleging that the woman was sexually assaulted by the other nursing home resident.

The independent executor of the estate of the deceased woman filed a complaint on Oct. 26 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that Glenwood failed to provide proper care to the woman and prevent the assault.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the woman suffered physical and emotional damages from the assault. The plaintiff holds the nursing home responsible for allegedly failing to provide proper supervision and Baldwin responsible for the alleged physical and sexual assault.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. The plaintiff is represented by Steven M. Levin, Ashley Hadler Herschberger and W. Kent Winingham of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
