Elmwood Care accused of negligence in supervision of resident

CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased man's estate is suing Elmwood Care, and associated entities, alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Linda Owens-Jackson, as independent administrator to collect of the estate of Cornelius Mahone, filed a complaint on Oct. 28 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Mahone.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Mahone suffered from the development of pressure sores. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to provide adequate supervision to Mahone in order to avoid the development of pressure sores.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by John J. Perconti and Daniel A. Goldfaden of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
