UPDATE: Cook County court records indicate this case was voluntarily withdrawn on Jan. 5, 2017.

CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased man's estate has filed a wrongful death suit against the University of Chicago Medical Center, alleging negligence in medical care.

Desiree Syler, as independent administrator of the estate of Roger R. Salinas, filed a complaint on Nov. 1 in Cook County Circuit Court against University of Chicago Medical Center, alleging the hospital failed to provide proper medical care to Salinas.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Salinas suffered from skin breakdowns and other medical conditions that contributed to his death. The plaintiff holds University of Chicago Medical Center responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Salinas to prevent avoidable deterioration of his health.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus other costs. She is represented by Kent M. Lucaccioni, of Chicago.
