Inverness man alleges he was injured during surgery

Medical malpractice 06

CHICAGO – A husband and wife are suing two physicians over allegations the husband was injured during a spinal surgery.

Richard Delorto and Nancy Delorto, of Inverness, filed a complaint on Nov. 1 in Cook County Circuit Court against Joanne Lind, independent executor of the estate of Richard Lind, M.D.; and Jack Perlmutter, M.D. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that, in 2015, Richard Delorto underwent spine surgery performed by Perlmuter and Richard Lind. He alleges he was injured during the surgery and suffered extensive bleeding and hemorrhagic shock, plus damage to his liver and kidneys.

The plaintiffs said the defendants allegedly failed to properly diagnose Delorto's condition.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount of more than $50,000 plus court costs. They are represented by Patrick F. Bradley in Northbrook.
