City of Chicago accused of being liable for woman's fall injuries

Slip01

CHICAGO — A woman is suing the city of Chicago, alleging negligence, liability and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries in connection with a fall.

Ollie Mason filed a complaint on Nov. 4 in Cook County Circuit Court against the city, alleging the city failed to keep the sidewalk free of any hazards that could cause an accident.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she sustained physical injuries from a fall on a sidewalk in November 2015 . The plaintiff holds the city responsible because the defendant allegedly allowed a hazardous condition without warning the plaintiff regarding gravel on the sidewalk.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Benjamin B. Kelly of The Vrdolyak Law Group in Chicago.
