Man blames Unity Point Health, employee, Peoria police officer for alleged malicious prosecution

CHICAGO — A man is suing Unity Point Health; a Unity Point employee; and a Peoria police officer, alleging malicious prosecution.

Clifton Robinson filed a complaint on Nov. 9 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that he was denied medical attention and taken to jail after refusing to speak with a police officer at the medical facility.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in May 2016, he was denied medical assistance and jailed on a false accusation of theft, and he holds the defendants responsible for those alleged damages.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by Geneva L. Penson in Aurora.
