Ingalls Memorial Hospital accused of not properly addressing fall risk

Medical malpractice 01

CHICAGO — A deceased woman's family has filed a wrongful death claim against Ingalls Memorial Hospital, alleging negligence in medical care.

Richard Kennedy, as independent administrator of the estate of Gladys Kennedy, filed a complaint on Nov. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court against Ingalls Memorial Hospital, alleging the hospital failed to provide proper medical care to Gladys Kennedy.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Kennedy sustained physical injuries from falling that contributed to her death. The plaintiff holds Ingalls Memorial Hospital responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to implement a care plan in order to address Kennedy's risk of falling.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional requisite of this court. He is represented by Paul D. Richter and Caitlin K. Finnegan of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
