Resident files suit against Aperion, others over allegedly negligent care

Medical malpractice 03

CHICAGO – A patient has filed suit against a Chicago long-term nursing care facility and its associates over its allegedly negligent care.

Dorothy Hickman filed a complaint on Nov. 16 in Cook County Circuit Court against International Nursing & Rehab Center LLC, doing business as Aperion Care International; Yam Management LLC; Yam Consulting LLC; Aperion Consulting LLC; Aperion Care Inc.; and two individuals, citing the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff has resided at Aperion Care International since November 2014. The plaintiff alleges that she experienced pain from having developed pressure ulcers. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide adequate treatment to the plaintiff in order to avoid her developing pressure ulcers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount of more than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by David M. Resis of The Law Offices of Steven J. Malman in Chicago.
