Patient says doctor failed to properly treat an infection around a prosthetic knee

Medical malpractice 02

CHICAGO — A patient is suing a doctor, identified as Richard A. Berger, M.D., and Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush LLC, alleging negligence in medical care.

Audrone Norusis filed a complaint on Nov. 28 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide her with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014, she sustained physical injuries in connection with a prosthetic knee and related infection. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to inform her of risks, failing to properly treat an infection, failing to remove the prosthetic knee in a timely fashion and failure to inform of complications of an infection treatment.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court. She is represented by David R. Centracchio of Gordon & Centracchio, L.L.C. in Chicago.
