Atrium Health Care Chicago accused of negligence in connection with death

CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased man's estate has filed a wrongful death claim against Atrium Health Care Chicago, alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Diane Soderlund, as independent administrator of the estate of Thomas Burg, filed a complaint on Nov. 30 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendant, alleging that the nursing home failed to provide proper care to Burg.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Burg suffered from the development of pressure ulcers that contributed to his death. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to provide adequate supervision to Burg in order to avoid the development of pressure ulcers.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Kristen N. Koeller of The Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates, P.C. in Chicago.
