Stroger Hospital, others blamed in vision loss

Medical malpractice 02

CHICAGO — A patient is suing David Greenberg, M.D; Eye Surgeons, S.C.; and John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, alleging negligence in medical care.

Guillermina Vallecillo filed a complaint on Nov. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide her with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014, she lost vision in her left eye due to a procedure in connection with eye surgery. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly administer anesthesia to the plaintiff, as well as properly address and treat her post-surgical complications.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Alan H. Bender of Goldstein, Bender & Romanoff in Chicago.
