CHICAGO — A patient is suing Todd S. Hewell III, M.D. and Hewell's practice alleging negligence in medical care.
Debra Wear filed a complaint on Nov. 18 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to the plaintiff in the field of cosmetic surgery.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered injuries due to careless and negligent surgical procedures and performing procedures to which she did not consent. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for alleged negligent acts and omissions.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 for actual damages, plus punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by James A. Karamanis of Barney & Karamanis, LLP in Chicago.
