CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate has filed a wrongful death claim alleging negligence in nursing home care.
Jacqueline Robinson, as independent administrator of the estate of Erma Hines, filed a complaint on Dec. 5 in Cook County Circuit Court against Loyola University Medical Center; Presence Ballard Nursing Center; Ballard Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center, LLC; Presence Life Connections; Glen Health and Home Management Inc.; and a nurse, alleging they failed to provide proper care to Hines.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Hines suffered from decubitus ulcers and skin breakdowns that contributed to her death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly assess and provide adequate treatment to Hines.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional requisite of this court for damages. She is represented by Paul D. Richter and Caitlin K. Finnegan of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
