Lakeview Rehab & Nursing, others accused of failing to prevent pressure ulcers

CHICAGO — A deceased woman's family has filed a wrongful death claims against Lakeview Rehab & Nursing; Infinity Healthcare Management of Illinois LLC; and two nurses, alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Lavina Crawford, as independent administrator of the estate of Willie Mae Crawford, filed a complaint on Dec. 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Willie Mae Crawford.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Crawford developed pressure ulcers that contributed to her death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Crawford to avoid the development of pressure ulcers.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court. She is represented by Jacqueline Kanter of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
