Resident alleges Park Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation did not prevent fall

Medical malpractice 02

CHICAGO – A resident at a Palos Heights long-term care facility alleges improper care caused her to fall and fracture her hip.

Margaret Corbett, individually and Ronald Smith, as attorney in fact for Corbett, filed a complaint on Dec. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court against Park Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and associated corporate entities, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Corbett fell on July 6, causing a right hip fracture, and developed pressure sores while in the defendants' care. The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to provide adequate supervision to Corbett to address her risk of falling.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants in an amount of more than $50,000. They are represented by Margaret Battersby Black and Daisy Ayllon of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
