Motorist accused of negligence in death of pedestrian

CHICAGO — A deceased man's family has filed a wrongful death claim against a motorist, alleging negligence in connection with a vehicle-pedestrian collision.

Beatriz Ramirez Solorzano, as special administrator of the estate of Jose Gonzalez-Navarette. filed a complaint on Dec. 15 in Cook County Circuit Court against Allan Dorfman , alleging that he failed to properly control his vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Gonzalez-Navarette was hit by Dorfman's vehicle, contributing to his death. The plaintiff holds Dorfman responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout while operating his vehicle.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Jordan S. Powell and Jared M. Reynolds of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
