St. Alexius Medical Center, doctors accused of surgical errors

CHICAGO — A patient is suing St. Alexius Medical Center and two doctors, Allen Saxon, M.D., and Michael Wilson, M.D., alleging negligence in medical care.

Joy Igaravidez filed a complaint on Dec. 15 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide her with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered a severed ureter, kidney damage and other complications from surgery. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly severing a ureter and leaving part of a stent in her body.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Charles V. Falkenberg of Karlin, Fleisher & Falkenberg, LLC in Chicago.
