Northshore Medical Group among those accused of failure to diagnose in timely manner

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Northshore University Healthsystem Skokie Hospital and Northshore Medical Group and two individuals, alleging negligence in medical care.

Robert S. Brooks filed a complaint on Dec. 21, in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper medical care to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered physical injuries due to a failure to make a timely diagnosis of necrotizing fasciitis/Fournier's gangrene. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly diagnose his condition and make sure it was treated before discharging him.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by David J. Letvin of Letvin & Stein in Chicago.
