CHICAGO — A nursing home resident's family is suing Mayfield Care Center and related corporate entities, alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Patricia Perkins, power of attorney for property of Victor Perkins, filed a complaint on Dec. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Victor Perkins.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Perkins experienced pain from the development of pressure ulcers. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Perkins to avoid the development of pressure ulcers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by Molly L. Condon of Hurley McKenna & Mertz, P.C. in Chicago.
