CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate has filed a wrongful death claim against Advocate Health and Hospitals Corporation d/b/a Advocate South Suburban Hospital, and Palos Hills Healthcare LLC d/b/a Bria Health Services of Palos Hills, alleging negligence in hospital and nursing home care.

Shmoca Cookbey, independent administrator of the estate of Genile Bolton, filed a complaint on Dec. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Bolton.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Bolton suffered from the development of pressure ulcers that contributed to and/or caused her death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to provide adequate supervision to Bolton in order to prevent the development of pressure ulcers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Matthew K. Henry of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates, P.C. in Chicago.
