Family alleges Norridge Gardens is responsible for woman's death

CHICAGO — A deceased woman's family has filed a wrongful death claim against Norridge Gardens, alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Guadalupe Rivera, as independent administrator of the estate of Rosemary Rivera, filed a complaint on Dec. 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against Norridge Gardens, alleging Rosemary Rivera suffered from the development of pressure ulcers that contributed to her death. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to provide sufficient supervision to Rivera to prevent skin breakdown or pressure ulcers from developing, or to provide immediate treatment to pressure ulcers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by Marc S. Weissman of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates, P.C. in Chicago.
