Man says missed diagnosis at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital preceded wife's death

Medical malpractice 01

CHICAGO — A deceased woman's husband has filed a wrongful death claim against Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, Illinois Emergency Medicine Specialists LLC., and Richard C. Ruff, D.O., alleging negligence in medical care.

Chime D. Ajiere filed a complaint on Dec. 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they are responsible for a misdiagnosis of Peace E. Ajiere's condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Peace Ajiere suffered an incarcerated hernia, which led to a cardiopulmonary arrest on June 29 and her death on June 30. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for Ajiere's alleged discharge from an emergency room without properly diagnosing and treating her condition prior to the cardiopulmonary arrest.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court sufficient to compensate him. He is represented by John B. Kralovec of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
