Estate blames rehabilitation center for resident's death

Medical malpractice 01

CHICAGO - An administrator of a man's estate is suing a Des Plaines rehabilitation center, alleging negligence led to the man's death.

The estate of Wladyslaw Gnarowski, through administrator Magdalena Chuchra, filed a lawsuit Jan. 6 in Cook County Circuit Court against Ballard Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center and a related entity, alleging failure to provide the proper standard care.

According to the complaint, Gnarowski suffered physical injuries, including a fractured leg, which contributed to the deterioration of his health. The suit says he died Feb. 27, 2016.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide all medical records pertaining to Gnarowski during his stay at their facility.

Chuchra seeks judgment of more than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by attorney Clifford Lee Gunter of Law Offices of Lee Gunter in Joliet.
