Son alleges father's sores developed under care of Saint Anthony Hospital contributed to death

Medical malpractice 02

CHICAGO – A son alleges pressure sores developed by his father while under the care of a Chicago medical facility contributed to the man's death.

Gemini Johnson, as supervised administrator of the estate of James Johnson, filed a complaint on Jan. 9 in Cook County Circuit Court against Saint Anthony Hospital, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges James Johnson experienced pain from having developed pressure sores while in the defendant's care in January 2015. The suit states he died in October 2016. The plaintiff holds Saint Anthony Hospital responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to develop a care plan for Johnson to prevent the development of the sores.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $50,000. He is represented by Jordan S. Powell and Caroleann S. Gallagher of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
