Norwood Crossing accused of negligence after former patient suffered fall

CHICAGO – A deceased woman's family claims a nursing facility failed to provide proper and adequate care to the woman while she was being treated in its facility.

John Leanardi, as special representative of the estate of Carla G. Leanardi, filed a complaint on Jan. 9 in Cook County Circuit Court against Norwood Crossing Association, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Leanardi experienced pain from suffering a fall while she was a resident at the defendant's facility and was left unattended. The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to provide adequate supervision to Leanardi and failed to protect her from neglect.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $50,000, plus court costs. He is represented by Terry M. Lachcik of Law Office of Daniel E. Goodman LLC in Rosemont.
