Medical malpractice 01

CHICAGO A Chicago hospital is being accused of wrongful death over claims a pressure ulcer contributed to a patient's death.

John Hill, as independent administrator of the estate of Ronald Hill, filed a complaint on Jan. 5 in Cook County Circuit Court against Rush University Medical Center; RML Health Providers Limited Partnership, doing business as RML Specialty Hospital, and others, alleging negligence and wrongful death.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the late Ronald Hill developed a pressure ulcer while under the care of the defendants for a month in late 2014. The suit states the ulcer never healed and remained until his death in July 2015. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide supervised nursing and personal care to the decedent while he was in their care.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount of more than $50,000. He is represented by Terrence E. Davey of The Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates, P.C. in Chicago.
