CHICAGO — A woman's family is suing Manor Care of Palos Heights West, a nursing facility, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.
John Scarpelli, as independent administrator of the estate of Harriet Scarpelli, filed a complaint on Jan. 5 in Cook County Circuit Court against alleging Harriet Scarpelli experienced pain from having developed pressure ulcers and dehydration while in the care of Manor Care.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to provide adequate supervision to Scarpelli to address her risk of developing pressure ulcers and ensure she remained hydrated.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by David M. Resis of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
